Abstract

Indonesia has a variety of natural and cultural wealth, including traditional food. One example is the traditional food typical of Central Java. In the midst of traditional Javanese culture, advice is often conveyed indirectly, through symbols or figures of speech. Food is one of the symbol media. However, much of this culinary heritage is being forgotten by the younger generation. Traditional food is often a means of conveying messages and advice in Central Javanese culture. Formal education rarely introduces this traditional food, which results in a potential loss of cultural identity. To overcome this, a study aims to utilize markerbased augmented reality (AR) technology. This application was developed with an Agile method and uses Unity and Vuforia. The use of AR with animated elements, images and sounds is expected to make learning traditional foods more exciting and interactive, especially for young children. Testing was carried out through the black box testing method with the sampling method. The results show that this application is running correctly and according to its function, with a percentage of 100%. Demonstrating the potential of AR technology in introducing traditional Central Javanese food to the younger generation.
