Abstract

UD. Adi Furniture is an industry engaged in the manufacture of Furniture such as doors, sills, shutters, kitchen sets, manufacture of iron fences, aluminum doors and office interiors. This company has a Make to Order (MTO) production planning strategy so that product manufacturing is based on consumer demand. However, in the process of implementing production, the work area of UD. Adi Furniture is often not arranged neatly, thereby reducing the effectiveness of the company's operations. The purpose of this research is to analyze the application of 6S in the work area of UD. Adi Furniture. Based on the results of the analysis of the application of the 6S method using the 6S Audit Checklist Form with 30 questions, namely the average 6S checklist audit result is 0.2 so that it can be said that the company has not achieved the Minimum Acceptable Score, namely 3. Based on the results of the analysis using the 5 Whys method, the causes of the problems that occur at UD . Adi Furniture's recommendations include giving directions to workers to tidy up equipment after use, maximizing free space for storage, making cleaning schedules and giving directions to workers regarding 6S.
