Abstract

The advances of technology has benefited many communities, one of which is the easy access to information instantaneously with no time or space. But beside its benefits, there's aspects of life that are also displaced, namely local culture, especially folklore. Nowadays, children are more familiar with entertainment and stories from abroad because they are more varied and easily accessible. In contrast to domestic stories that were less explored so the local folklore began to be abandoned. The design of the ebook illustration was intended to introduce the local culture of Curug Cipendok Folklore to preschool-age children especially in PAUD Mawar Bersemi Cilongok. The data of this research were collected through qualitative methods that obtained by observation of the target audiences and locations to be raised into stories, literature studies to determine the style of illustrations to be used, and interview to an informant who is considered knowing well the folklore. The result of this design is an e-book illustration using vectors using colorfull colors. As well as supporting media such as: x-banners, posters, e-flyers, sitting calendars and drawing books to promote e-books to a wider audience. Keywords: e-book, illustrated book, folklore.
