Abstract

Information Technology (IT) is growing rapidly, currently educational organizations make IT an important requirement in it. IT investment can provide success for the running of a business process, organizations need information technology governance. Governance will make it easier for organizations to monitor and improve IT that is already running in it. SMK Telkom Purwokerto is one of the vocational schools that has made IT investments, but has several problems related to its IT, such as not implementing governance standards using the COBIT 2019 Design Factor and a good strategy is needed to improve information technology governance by mapping information technology governance improvements at SMK Telkom Purwokerto in order to create alignment between IT strategy and business strategy Improvements to information technology governance are needed to achieve its strategic goals. This research utilizes the COBIT 2019 framework by identifying 11 processes through the help of the design factor toolkit which aims as a tool to assess the extent of the running capability level. The results show that the APO13, DSS05, and MEA03 processes need to be improved. To achieve its business objectives the strategy given is to manage the level of IT-related security and ensure compliance with regulations.
