Abstract

Wayang is an Indonesian art that comes from the word “wa” and “yang” which means shadow. Wayang beber is the oldest wayang in Indonesia. In this modern era, wayang has become extinct. One of the wayang stories is the Lakon Laire Semar as a medium for cultural education. This laire semar play tells of Shanghyang Tunggal who wanted to have a child and the child took the form of an egg and broke into three pieces after the child was born, they fought over each other for power so they were cursed. The book that will be made is in the form of a pop-up where the book can attract children’s reading interest because it has a 3-dimensional shape in each opening of the book. Where the book made by the author will be used as education for children and as a cultural archive at the Banyumas Wayang Museum.
