Abstract

Indonesian Sign Language is a language used by Deaf people for daily communication for children and the elderly. However, Indonesian Sign Language is still not recognized as a language, and has no awareness of the importance of Indonesian Sign Language as a mother tongue. Often have barriers to communication using Indonesian Sign Language. The ability of Indonesian for Deaf children is still below the average of the general public, due to limited access to Indonesian Sign Language. Indonesian sign language learning media is needed for which is the Silang Application. The website as a media for learning Indonesian Sign Language has been carried out by Silang and developed by PT. Digital Inclusion Innovation, then it will be equipped with mobile-based applications. This mobile-based application will be designed with a user interface (UI) to provide convenience for users through interactive visuals, build customer loyalty, and campaign for the existence of Indonesian Sign Language as a language, and improve Silang products with high usability value. In the process of designing the user interface (UI) using two methods with the approach of User-Centered Design and Design Thinking. In this approach, it is used to capture data that aims to focus on the target user as a reference center to perform stages in the process of designing the application user interface with the design thinking method gradually.
