Abstract

In the digital era, music has a central role as an expression of individual and collective feelings in society. One genre that has emerged is punk rock, known for its simple musical structure and provocative lyrics. The Jansen, a punk band from the city of Bogor, Indonesia, attracted attention with the album "Banal Makin Binal", especially the song "You are the Main Actor in an Opera" which was popular on digital platforms. To explore a broader understanding and reach a larger audience, a 2D animated music video was created. Qualitative research methods are used with SWOT analysis to evaluate strengths and weaknesses. The purpose of this video is to promote the song and make it easier for viewers to interpret the message contained. The use of 2D animation with a "rotoscoping" technique helps illustrate the meaning of the song. Promotional media includes stage videos, social media footage, Spotify animations, posters and stickers, forming a music video that is visually appealing and deep in conveying the meaning of the song.
