Abstract

This research proposes the development of a Tourism Information System in South Buton Regency using the Waterfall method and E-Tourism concept. South Buton is an area in Southeast Sulawesi rich in tourism potential, including natural beauty and local cultural wisdom. However, the suboptimal access to information about tourist attractions remains a challenge in increasing the number of tourist visits. By utilizing the E-tourism concept and Waterfall method, the design of the "Visiting South Buton" Tourism Information System is carried out in a structured and sequential manner, with initial stages involving user requirement definition, design, system development, and maintenance. The result of this research is a website application, where the programming language used is PHP with support from the Laravel framework, and MySQL. System testing is conducted using the black box method and the System Usability Scale. The test results show that the black box testing method successfully completes all functionalities perfectly in 100 tested scenarios. Additionally, testing using the System Usability Scale produces a score of 84%, reaching the minimum average limit tested on 25 respondents, and is considered acceptable by users. The current system built still uses web-based programming. It is hoped that further research will develop an Android-based system and add other location features and virtual reality systems so that this system truly has many advantages.
