Abstract

Tracer Study is an alumni tracking or survey application conducted by higher education institutions to understand the absorption process and the position of alumni in the workforce. IT Telkom Purwokerto is currently developing Tracer Study, which can be categorized as a new technology. In 2023, the Tracer Study has been updated to questionnaire submission through the iGracias application, but it still has many weaknesses in its implementation. For example, it cannot provide more than one choice in the answers, the distribution and filling of the old questionnaires still use Google Form links, and there are constraints or obstacles in tracking, surveying, and following up with alumni. Therefore, there is a need to measure the readiness level of the Tracer Study system at IT Telkom Purwokerto using the Technology Readiness Index (TRI) as an approach to measure the success of the Tracer Study implementation.The research aims to measure the readiness level of the users of the Tracer Study Information System at IT Telkom Purwokerto. TRI is used as a method to assess user readiness in implementing new technology for alumni tracking. This measurement involves four main aspects: optimism, innovativeness, discomfort, and insecurity. Data analysis is conducted using the SPSS software. The research data is obtained through a representative data collection process. A case study in this research is conducted at the IT Telkom Purwokerto campus with 9 study programs involving alumni from the graduating years 2020 to 2022.The TRI measurement results for the information system indicate a TRI score of 2.59. This score is low or less than 2.89 (TRI ≤ 2.89). The obtained score of 2.59 consists of an optimism score of 0.71, an innovativeness score of 0.42, a discomfort score of 0.59, and an insecurity score of 0.79.
