Abstract

Trinil Museum is the oldest archaeological site in Indonesia, famous for the discovery of Pithecantropus Erectus by Eugene Dubois in 1891. It is located in Kawu Village, Kedunggalar District, Ngawi Regency, East Java. This research aims to design a pop-up book of Trinil Museum as an introduction media for elementary school children. Trinil Museum is an archaeological museum located in Ngawi Regency, East Java, which has a collection of ancient human fossils and other ancient artifacts. The pop-up book was designed as a communicative, interactive, and imaginative means to introduce the historical story of ancient life to children. This research uses a qualitative method with a focus on an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon under study. Data was obtained directly from Trinil Museum and the research subject was an educator at the museum. This popup book is expected to increase the popularity of Trinil Museum and become a meaningful source of historical learning for elementary school children in Ngawi Regency and surrounding areas.
