Abstract

The development of Android-based operating systems is now increasing rapidly, many systems are being developed using mobile devices or applications. Smartphones are not only used as a communication tool, but are also used to make it easier for users to access other information anywhere and anytime. Academic Information System is a technology that provides information related to academic activities undertaken. The academic information system in a school is very important. Especially for the school and for students. SMA Negeri 1 Bojong is one of the state education institutions at the high school level where there is no androidbased academic system to stream academic-related information. Therefore researchers, built a prototype android-based academic application at SMA N 1 Bojong which aims to distribute information about academics to students. In designing this Android-based academic application prototype there are features such as news or information about learning, student profiles, grade lists, schedules, attendance and students can provide suggestions or criticisms to the school online. The method used in this study is the Prototyping method. In this prototyping method there are 3 stages of this method including Listen to Customer, Build and Revise Moke-up, Customer Test Drives Mock-up. As well as conducting tests using the system usability scale method to evaluate prototype applications. Keywords: Academic, Android, Protype, SUS
