Abstract

The current technological advancements cannot be separated from the role of humans who continuously innovate, especially in the field of business and services. One of these innovations is the concept of "kost" (boarding house). Kost is a temporary residential place provided by a kost owner, offering various room sizes and rental costs. The increasing number of newcomers in Purwokerto city has led kost owners to establish kost houses as a promising business. Based on observations conducted by researchers, the process of finding kost rooms is still carried out manually by visiting several residential complexes, where kost availability is uncertain. This poses challenges, particularly for newcomers in Purwokerto who may have specific needs or those who require temporary accommodation for a week or two, such as people coming from other cities for work or students. Unfortunately, there is hardly any specialized kost search website for Purwokerto, except for one available at the following link: http://www.kostpurwokerto.com/. Therefore, the idea of designing a user-friendly front-end website for kost search emerged. This website design offers a login feature for kost owners to add or remove information about their kost rooms and also allows potential tenants to search for kost addresses and details. The website design follows the Kanban framework, and its usability is tested using the System Usability Scale (SUS), a method that clearly distinguishes between effective and ineffective websites.
