Abstract

The large costs incurred by traditional media are not proportional to the decline in public interest and the increase in the number of internet users associated with media digitization. This causes a trend reversal from traditional media to digital-based mass media. This trend reversal has an impact on Satelit TV as a local television station in Banyumas Regency, which provides print newspapers to present local news. As time went on, the production of these printed newspapers was discontinued considering that the interest of the public continued to diminish. However, Satelit TV does not yet have its own news portal site like most mass media to replace the printed newspaper. This certainly affects the competitiveness of local media. Departing from the problems above, this study aims to design a Satelit TV news portal website. The method used to design this news portal website is Rapid Application Development (RAD). The focus of the RAD method is how to create or develop software in a relatively short time if the team's needs are well known. This research produces a Satelit TV news portal website that will be accessible to the general public and regulated by the Satelit TV Administrator. Keyword: News Portal, Satelit TV, RAD
