Abstract

Becoming Professional UI/UX Designer is one of five learning programs in the Certified Independent Study activity at Alterra Academy, PT. Marka Kreasi Persada. The Becoming Professional UI/UX Designer program includes individual learning that includes design and research with a final project in the form of a team consisting of several specific skills. In individual learning, each participant will take classes in asynchronous form (consisting of Pre-Preparation Learning by watching learning videos, taking quizzes and material summaries, doing practical assignments and independent study watching learning videos) and in synchronous form by participating in Live sessions where participants can with the expert mentor personally regarding the previously studied material through the asynchronous type of learning. Independent Study Program at Alterra Academy, PT. Marka Kreasi Persada, runs for about five months starting from February 17 to July 29, 2022. The first week to the ninth week of learning is carried out synchronously and asynchronously with the class mentor. During this time the participants reviewed the material on UI/UX. For five months of learning is also accompanied by daily assignments on each material. In the 10th week to the 12th week, there are work sessions, discussions with mentors and presentations related to Mini Projects. The Final Project (Capstone Project) starts on the 13th week to the 21th week and is then presented in the 22th week. The thing that impressed me while participating in the Becoming Professional UI/UX Designer program at Alterra Academy was the experience of learning about soft skills and hard skills that I may not have gotten at the campus where I studied.
