Abstract

PT Royal Korindah Purbalingga is a company that produces false eyelashes, one of the processes in making false eyelashes is the knitting process, which is the process of knitting strands of hair into yarn has around 900 workers. Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are one of the problems that are often encountered in workers, including the knitting production division workers, the knitting process is carried out in a sitting position for a long time. This study aims to determine the causes and locations of MSDs, the sample of this study amounted to 90 respondents with a random sampling system, the data were collected using a Nordic Body Map (NBM) and the factors causing complaints questionnaire. The results showed that 62 respondents (68.9%) had moderate MSDs and 28 respondents (31.1%) had low-level MSDs, the location of the complaint with the highest points was the upper neck with a total of 238 points. Fisher exact test results showed that the variables of gender and sitting position cannot be calculated because the absolute answer is the same, there is no significant relationship between age (p 0.056), years of service (p 0.133), Body Mass Index (BMI) (p 0.661), working time (p 0.386) and repetitive movements (p 0.311) with MSDs.
