Abstract
Purbalingga Regency is an industrial city that has many tourist destinations scattered throughout the city of Purbalingga. The lack of information to determine the shortest route to tourist destinations in Purbalingga Regency can be a major problem in traveling. The number of highways, especially the large volume of vehicles, often makes it difficult for tourists to find the shortest route to tourist attractions. The purpose of this research is to determine the shortest path to tourist destinations in Purbalingga Regency by applying the A-Star algorithm manually. The approach applied in this research includes data collection regarding tourist locations and the distance between road intersections. The A-Star algorithm is implemented manually to find the shortest path between the starting point and the destination location of tourist destinations. The manual process of finding the shortest route using the A-Star algorithm involves heuristic estimation and step-by-step evaluation in the selection of the shortest path. The manual search process of the A-Star algorithm on the tourist route of Purbalingga Regency can be identified effectively. The A-Star algorithm has significant potential in determining the path of determining the shortest path, which can be used as a basis for further development. The result of this research is to determine the shortest route in tourist destinations in Purbalingga Regency. So that it can choose the shortest route to determine the trip to the location.
