Abstract

Mountain climbing has become a popular tourist attraction in Indonesia, not only due to the memorable experiences it offers but also its contributions to environmental awareness and mental growth. The Gunung Slamet Basecamp via Bambangan route, known for its splendid panoramic views and easy accessibility, has become the preferred choice for climbers aspiring to conquer Mount Slamet. However, the current on-site registration system at the Bambangan Basecamp presents a barrier for climbers coming from outside the region, necessitating them to stay overnight to register the following day. As a solution to this challenge, this study designs a website for online booking of Mount Slamet climbing through the Bambangan route, employing the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. This approach facilitates efficient software development once the team's requirements are identified. Research findings indicate that the development of the online booking website successfully passed blackbox testing with a success rate of 100%, involving testing of 18 scenarios and 6 main features. Moreover, this website has been successfully deployed on a virtual private server (VPS), enabling access for all parties. These findings affirm that the website effectively offers a solution for climbers to plan their ascent to Mount Slamet through the Bambangan Basecamp.
