Abstract
Businesses are increasingly taking advantage of VoIP technology to reduce communication costs. VoIP Voice over Internet Protocol) is a type of long distance voice communication that occurs over an IP network. To set up a VoIP server, users do not need to create new infrastructure, this is related to the increased costs required, so it is solved by using virtualization, specifically VirtualBox. On a LAN scale, VoIP is widely used to connect departments in various businesses. VoIP can be developed wirelessly using mobile devices such as laptops and smartphones, increasing the mobility of an organization's workforce. In this case the author makes a VoIP server, namely the Briker softwitch and the softphone as a communication application from the client side. A series of call trials were carried out on a VoIP server using Zoiper5, MizuPhone and MicroSIP. It can be said that the design of the VoIP server was successfully designed with call notifications from other extensions, being able to exchange information and being recorded in call logs.
