Abstract

The TNI house (Menoreh Dormitory) located on Jalan Gunung Menoreh is a TNI housing located in Purwokerto, Central Java. This housing is often referred to as the Menoreh Dormitory. In the Menoreh Dormitory there are approximately 12 families and each has a child. Children in Menoreh Dormitory use the internet for a long time, especially to do schoolwork. Menoreh Dormitory Wi-Fi is Wi-Fi intended for students who are in the Menoreh Dormitory environment. The use of the internet can search for information such as searching for goods, news and various necessary information. Currently the internet has been used freely such as watching movies, until downloading files simultaneously can result in decreased network performance. This problem can be solved by performing bandwidth management to avoid excessive bandwidth absorption. Bandwidth sharing can be done using tools, for example, Mikrotik. Mikrotik Router is a derivative operating system from the Debian Linux distribution which is used specifically as a Router and gateway. Mikrotik has Quality Of Service (QOS) which is often used when you want to know the bandwidth usage by the user. Besides being able to be implemented for Bandwidth management, Mikrotik can also be used for web filtering. Web filtering is a method for filtering website content that is usually used by individuals, groups, and organizations to filter websites. It was found that there were problems with the Wi-Fi of the Menoreh Dormitory, namely the absence of restrictions on free internet use and the absence of content filtering, so bandwidth management and website filtering were needed in order to make it easier for students to use internet access, and avoid parental concerns about children accessing Internet. The results of this research are successful in making website filtering and bandwidth restrictions on the Menoreh Dormitory Learning Wi-Fi so that children in the Menoreh dormitory environment can use the internet according to their needs and internet use is not misused with content filtering or filtering systems.
