Abstract

Academic information system is a system designed to process academic data. iGracias Mobile is an academic information system application that can be used flexibly by students of the Telkom Purwokerto Institute of Technology. iGracias aims to provide information about lectures to students. iGracias can be downloaded via google playstore. Based on the results of a questionnaire involving students of the Telkom Purwokerto Institute of Technology, several problems were found in the iGracias Mobile application so that the display was still not effective in presenting lecture information to students. Based on the results of the evaluation using the System Usability Scale questionnaire, the current design (ver 2.0.1) has a score of 58 which is classified as grade D with an adjective rating of poor so it is necessary to improve the design. The method used to evaluate and develop the user interface design on the iGracias Mobile application is the SUS method with a User Centered Design approach. The results obtained from this study are a new design for the iGracias Mobile application which was made based on the respondents' suggestions and the steps involved in the UCD method. From this study, it was found that the usability value of the new design increased from 58 to 80.8 which was included in grade A with an adjective rating of excellent. So it can be concluded that the new design can solve the problems that exist in the iGracias Mobile application. Keywords : Mobile application, iGracias, Academic information system, SUS, UCD.
