Abstract
Regional songs are one that distinguishes cultural identity because they have characteristics that distinguish one region from another. Almost every region has its own regional song, both in terms of language, instruments, and the values contained in the song itself. As an Indonesian society, it is obligatory to preserve Indonesian culture, one of which is to know folk songs, especially the younger generation who must maintain and preserve them because not a few folk songs in Indonesia have begun to be forgotten due to the influence of modernization. Therefore we need an effective means or application to help the younger generation recognize and learn folk songs in Indonesia, one of which is an effective system or application. So the author was inspired to create an Android-based folk song recognition application as a learning medium. The system development method uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) then the system design uses UML. And the testing is done with two approaches alpha testing and beta testing. Alpha testing is a test that is used to test the system's functionalities using the black box method, the results of alpha testing show that the functionality of the system is functioning properly, and beta testing is carried out using the questionnaire method. Beta testing results obtained a value above 79 which is included in the rating scale with the category "Agree" With a positive statement, this category shows that the Android-based folk song recognition application in Indonesia is good to be used as a medium for learning folk song recognition. Keywords: Android, Black Box Testing, Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), UML, Regional Songs
