Abstract
Composites are composed of several different materials so that they can produce a final material that is different from the original properties of each material used. The materials used in the formation of composites have two different types of materials, filler (filler) and matrix (adhesive). In this research, tensile test analysis and impact tests were conducted to determine the best material composition in the manufacture of particleboard. The type of filler used as a composite material is plastic straw waste (Polypropylene), sawdust and the matrix used is catalyst resin. Based on the test results, it was shown that the material composition of 50% sawdust, 50% plastic straw, and 55 ml of catalyst resin had the highest tensile strength and impact test. The results of the tensile test and impact test were 16 N/mm2 and 1.27 J, respectively. The very strong intermolecular bonds of the material make this composition can be used as a reference in the manufacture of particleboard.
