Abstract
PT. Sutanto Arifchandra Elektronik is one of the manufacturing companies that produces cables that has an existence as a quality cable manufacturer by producing frequency cables, power cables, and low voltage cables. As a manufacturer of quality cables, PT. Sutanto Arifchandra Elektronik has a strict production process from raw materials to finished products. In addition to the many strict product standards, PT. Sutanto Arifchandra needs to pay attention to the process of rooling and packing because it is one of the important processes when a product undergoes a packaging process in the form of cable rolls or cable packing into kandi or cardboard. During the rolling and packing process, there are many motion studies that need to be improved on a more ergonomic work layout process. From the results of the motion study data obtained, for the automanual rooling work process with the percentage of left hand movement time as much as 98% and the percentage of right hand movement time as much as 87%, for manual scrolling work processes and company labeling the results obtained with the percentage of left hand movement time as much as 83% and the percentage of right hand movement time is 63%, while for the packing process the results obtained are 80% left hand movement time percentage and 97% right hand movement time percentage. There are many factors that occur in the field, rooling and packing operators take initiative to overcome the way the work system adapts to conditions in the field. In this study, researchers are looking for solutions to problems in the rooling and packing operator's work system by recapitulating data on the work elements of the hand motion process, making improvements to the work system part of the operator's hand motion system and planning the work system according to ergonomics science. Key word: Rolling and packing operator, motion study, work system
