Abstract
Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency, air conditioners (AC) many used in Indonesia. In the city of Jakarta, AC users reach 30.8% of the total population. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), electricity consumption for AC will be the main trigger for the increase in world electricity demand by 2050. The use of AC becomes inefficient due to human error factors that forget to turn off the AC, so that the air conditioner operates all day not as needed. On how to use AC, most people set the air conditioner temperature at 16 ° C and 18 ° C. Actually, This causes the AC compressor to continue running so that the room temperature becomes very cold and has an impact on increasing costs. AC usage control using a moving average filter based on the Internet of Things is the right choice. Because it can save electricity usage. The application of a MAF is used for the DHT11 temperature sensor as a stabilization of the sensor output data, so that the hope is that the DHT11 sensor output will be more accurate. The process of AC control usage is carried out in two ways, namely using the Passive Infrared (PIR) motion sensor and the Blynk application. The purpose of using PIR is to turn off and turn on the air conditioner automatically. Meanwhile, the purpose of using the Blynk application is to manually turn off, turn on, and regulate the air conditioner temperature. The results obtained indicate that the application of a MAF on the DHT11 sensor provides more stable results. Also, the results obtained from this research, the AC control system can work well (100% success rate). Assuming the application of the AC control system from valid data, the use of one AC unit can save electricity consumption of 11.52 kWh per day (345.6 kWh per month). Or, there is a potential savings of 60% on electricity bills. Keywords: Internet of Things, air conditioner, moving average filter, NodeMCU8288
