Abstract

As time goes by, technology in industry requires an efficient technology which could help to support the needs of surveillance system, the controlling technique and data management, which is carried out automatically, is using PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) because it is considered to be able to handle the control system and data acquisition. In writing this report, the aim is to find out how it works and how to communicate the Modbus TCP communication protocol. Due to this basis, the writer uses the data exchange method using the Modbus TCP communication protocol on the Festo PLC CPX-CEC-M1 series which is assisted by several codeys supporting software and visual studio code. With the easy application of the Modbus TCP communication protocol, it is widely used and could send data by avoiding packet loss. Keyword: Modbus TCP, PLC, Festo, Codesys
