Abstract
The user of cellular telephone services is increasing in Indonesia, as one of the technologies with a very fast development of cellular telephony is a primary need for the community, the user of cellular telephones does not escape internet data access and also voice services, many users complain about the low quality of cellular networks. because of the communication that needs to be done Drive Test to see the quality and reach of the operator through the tower. Drive Test is one of a series of network optimization, Drive Test is carried out to collect information from communication towers regarding the quality of services provided by operators, while services provided are in the form of internet data and voice. Drive Test is carried out by mobilizing an area with a predetermined route, the tools used for the Drive Test include: Laptops that have TEMS investigation installed, Sony Ericson K800 cell phones that have been injected with TEMS, GPS G-STAR, USB inverter, cell phone and laptop chargers as well as cars as vehicles. In this study, the author will discuss about how the Drive Test process in the city of Surakarta on the Telkomsel voice service provider uses GSM and WCDMA signals transmitted by communication towers.
