Abstract
The satellites used for communication services have experienced significant development since they were discovered in 1965. This development is indicated by the smaller size of the earth station used and the increasing number of users of satellite communication services. Small stations with antenna sizes that only range from 0.74-3 m, have become increasingly popular, commonly called Internet Protocol-based VSAT IP (Very Small Aperture Terminal). In Indonesia itself, which is an archipelagic country so that communication access is difficult to reach by communication networks using cables or using microwave technology, VSAT technology is a choice that is widely taken by both private and government companies. Apart from because satellite communication technology has a wide area coverage and easy installation, in terms of capabilities it is also reliable and can be used for 24 hours. Various kinds of services can be supported such as: Virtual Private Network, Internet, videoconferencing, and others. Keywords: 0.74m antenna, VSAT, VSAT IP, Internet.
