Abstract

A network is built using a variety of different network devices, one of which is a router. A router is a device used to send data packets between networks through a process called routing. In the market, there are many companies that produce routers, including Mikrotik with its product called Mikrotik RouterOS, which is widely used for network management. However, configuring Mikrotik can be challenging for some individuals because even though the Mikrotik product has a GUI (Graphical User Interface) based configuration program, it still requires lengthy and confusing steps to be followed for configuration. This makes it difficult for users to configure it. Using Mikrotik as a hotspot server can facilitate network owners in managing who can access their network. Additionally, network owners can also set a specific duration for network users to connect to the internet. By using this Mikrotik router, it is expected to reduce operational costs while still ensuring good performance when used.
