Abstract

Data security is a crucial aspect in computer operating systems. From March to April 2022, there have been several cases of manipulation by irresponsible parties who alter the data to be given to the regional stockist. One of the cryptographic protection techniques in this research is the Extended Polybius Square Method. This method aims to ensure the safety of stored records and the system is based on a website using the RAD (Rapid Application Development) method. Blackbox testing is used to evaluate the system performance and Heuristics method is used to measure the system appearance. The research resulted in a website-based encryption system that can conceal the contents of Microsoft Word files using the Extended Polybius Square Method with ease and good appearance based on Heuristics testing.
