Abstract
Streaming services can be a means of various activities such as learning, matches or performances that are carried out virtually. Streaming media servers are used to provide streaming services to users. Generally, server services are built using physical computers. When the number of users accessing server services increases, there will be an increase in the number of requests that create excessive server traffic loads. The solution for distributing the traffic load can use the load balancing method by dividing the traffic load on several servers evenly. The use of server services that are built physically on a computer becomes inefficient, when it is necessary to increase or decrease the number of servers used and the amount of costs incurred when buying additional devices for servers. Virtualization technology helps overcome the problem of physical devices by adding virtual devices. This research was conducted with the aim of building a load balancing system for cloud computing services used for media streaming services using the least connection algorithm. Cloud computing services are built using Openstack software to create server virtualization of 3 instances. Testing was carried out through three variations in the number of connections, namely 500 connections, 2000 connections, and 5000 connections with a rate of 100 requests/second. The test results show that the average CPU usage of the system works optimally on 2000 connections, namely 75,74% with a response time of 46,7 ms and can handle 5000 connections. Based on the quality of service to the client from the download side using a transmitted video frame rate of 30 fps and 4096 Kbps, it shows that the throughput value can reach 13 Mbps supported by good delay quality and packet loss close to 0% with 10 clients accessing the stream simultaneously.
