Abstract

Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Province D.I. Yogyakarta uses a Local Area Network (LAN) computer network. LAN is a network consisting of one or more computers in a certain area. LANs are interconnected using hubs/switches or other devices. The existence of a LAN cable can easily communicate directly with other units because it can be connected between PCs in the same LAN area. One of the tasks given is hands-on practice in designing LAN cables that will be used to replace LAN cables in the Regional Balance and Statistical Analysis (NWA) unit. This is because the NWA unit often occurs network disturbances. Replacement of LAN cables in the NWA unit of BPS DIY in order to find out how network disturbances at BPS DIY can be resolved by replacing LAN cables, the benefits of installing LAN cables at BPS DIY, as well as interference during LAN cable installation at BPS DIY.
