Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has contributed to the renewal of aspects of people's lives. One of the efforts to renew people's lives is to carry out city development which involves the application of advances in information technology in achieving the government's vision and mission to achieve a better community city life called the Smart City concept. Several cities in Indonesia that have initiated Smart City, there are 22 local governments including Aceh, Denpasar, Tangerang, Jakarta, Bandung, Pontianak, Samarinda, Balikpapan, Lombok, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Manado, Medan, and others. The number of cities that have initiated smart cities and the potential for regional resources in Maros Regency such as natural potential, tourism, forestry, agriculture, trade, plantations, fisheries, livestock industry, and mining to be developed so as to provide maximum benefits for people's lives. The problems that occur in Maros Regency have the risk of uncontrolled regional development problems that can have an impact on the community environment. This makes local governments compelled to initiate the development of the Smart City concept, the Maros Regency local government initiative continues to collaborate with IT consultants in compiling a Smart City Masterplan 2022-2026. The purpose of this research is related to Smart City strategic planning to assist the local government of Maros Regency in building a Smart City. This research was conducted using the ward and peppard method. The ward and peppard method is suitable for use with the case study of Maros Regency which produces a road map through the process of analyzing current conditions and analyzing future conditions, this is in accordance with the analytical process contained in the framework of the ward and peppard method. The results of this study are in the form of a Smart City Masterplan document for Maros Regency in 2022-2026 by providing a roadmap and a quick win program as a recommendation for a smart city development acceleration program.
