Abstract

Hotspot is one of the facilities provided by the school, but network security at Al Kautsar Islamic Boarding School Purwokerto still uses the same Password and can be used by many users. So that the teachers and staff at the school are worried, because the network becomes slow and even user login failures often occur. In fact, when viewed from the location of the Al Kautsar Islamic Boarding School which is inside the pesantren, an authentication system is urgently needed where only registered users can access the internet on the hotspot. in this study using a Captive Portal system and simple queue. In previous studies, many have used the Captive Portal system as an effort to increase network access security and can control who can enter the network. In this study, we use a Captive Portal system and a simple queue to limit user authentication between school members and non-school members, and a simple queue to provide Bandwidth limitations. The result of this research is to produce a special user authentication restriction for users who are already registered at SMK Pesantren Al Kautsar Purwokerto who are allowed to access school hotspots. In addition, simple queue also provides Bandwidth Limitation. Keywords: Hotspot, user authentication, Captive Portal, simple queue.
