Abstract
Women have an essential role in economic development in coastal areas. One of the roles is to process the remaining marine products used as side activities to increase the family's incomes. The processing activities are realized to produce added value products by minimizing marine waste. This research aims to observe the women's role in reducing marine product waste based on logistics activities. It is due to limited studies mentioned about marine product waste assessment. The method used is quantitative, with the statistical test being ANOVA. The results show there is a significant factor that correlates with logistics activities. The elements are the estimated amount of processed marine products and the daily income. The estimated amount of processed marine products is significant with unsold products given to the nearest neighbor. Daily income has important with storage, decrease in the quality of the products, and bad weather. In addition, by gaining appropriate storage, women can add their knowledge about inventory. They can collaborate with interested parties to provide sufficient storage. In addition, good storage can keep the processed marine product quality. The appropriate storage freezing storage can keep the raw material inventory during lousy weather. Keywords: Logistics, Waste, Marine Products, Women Role
