Abstract

The use of learning media is needed to make it easier for teachers to convey the material and make it easier for students to understand the material provided. The use of learning media that is less effective in teaching and learning activities can cause students to lack understanding of the material. Learning chemistry is usually considered difficult by high school students, one of the causes of this problem is the lack of student interest in chemistry subjects. Starting from this problem, this research will create a mobile-based application by implementing Augmented Reality (AR) as a chemistry learning medium. Augmented Reality is a technology that combines virtual objects and real objects and then displays them in the real world in real time. One of the Augmented Reality methods is Marker Based Tracking, a type of Augmented Reality that uses markers to display 3D objects. The process of making the application uses Unity, Vuforia, and Blender 3D tools. Applications that have been built are tested, namely performance tests and feasibility tests. The application performance test will be seen from the distance and camera angle to the marker, then the application feasibility test will use the System Usability Scale method. The development method used in this research is the Waterfall development method. Keywords : Augmented Reality, Blender 3D, Kimia, Marker Based Tracking, System Usability Scale, Unity, Vuforia, Waterfall
