Abstract

Early childhood is a child who is in the range 0-6 years. Listening and reading skills are very important for children because they are used to obtain new information. In the early stages of development, children obtain information through listening and observing. Then the child will begin to learn to read to obtain written information. Introducing letters to children is important to help children in the process of reading and writing. Letters can be introduced to children by listening to the sounds and shapes of the letters. There are various types of letters, including hijaiah letters. One alternative learning method to be more interactive using technology that is currently developing is Augmented Reality technology or commonly called AR. The method used in AR is marker based tracking, which is to display 3D objects that will be seen after the tracking process with a good success rate due to the distance factor when scanning and in unsupported light conditions, even though they can still display 3D objects. In developing the system for this application, the Waterfall method is used as a method used to design, build and maintain information and processes on the system. Based on the results of functionality testing, it shows that the application is running well. For distance testing, getting a distance of 10 cm has a high success rate, while for distances below 10 cm it still doesn't work because the marker is too close to the AR camera. The results of the angle test show that the 20-degree angle aspect has a high success rate and has a maximum angle limit of 90-110 degrees on each smartphone with different specifications. For the results of the user satisfaction analysis, the results of the good test were obtained through a questionnaire that had been made with a total of 60 respondents resulting in an average SUS score of 77.2 which can be concluded that the application can be accepted by users with a good level of Adjective Ratings category. Keywords: Augmented Reality, Hijaiah letters, Marked Based Tracking, System Usability Scale
