Abstract

Goldfish are freshwater ornamental fish that are popular for cultivation in aquariums and ponds and are projected to reach 129,734 thousand fish by 2024. The maintenance of goldfish requires a water temperature of 26 – 30°C, minimum turbidity of 10 NTU, and a water pH of 6 – 8. Improper feeding can affect growth and endanger the condition of the fish. With the internet of things technology and network time protocol, it is possible to change manual feeding activities to be automatic at a certain time and monitored remotely. NTP is an internet protocol used to synchronize time on a computer network. In this thesis, we use several tools and materials such as the Dallas DS18B20 sensor to monitor the temperature of the aquarium water, the Sen0161 pH sensor to measure the acidity of the aquarium water, the SKU sen0189 turbidity sensor to measure the turbidity of the aquarium water, the SG90 servo motor to move the goldfish feed cap, nodemcu esp32. as a microcontroller, an android application to monitor the condition of the aquarium and a wireshark application to monitor the quality of service (QoS) of the internet network used. This research is expected to assist in monitoring the aquarium and feeding automatically with the NTP method and can be monitored remotely using IoT technology. The results of testing the whole system to run well, where the automatic feed system works according to the set hours, namely at 9:00 and 17:00. The results of the calibration test for the Dallas DS18B20 sensor have an error value of 1.11%. Sen0161 pH sensor solution pH 5.2, 7 and 9.5 error values 2.01%, 1.53% and 0.18%. The sen0189 sku turbidity sensor is good because the sensor detects water turbidity linearly and the sg90 servo motor performance is good because the average error value is 2.39%. The results of testing the QoS parameters for the value of delay 308,324 ms, jitter 212.248 ms, throughput 2648,688 bit/s, and packet loss 0.01%. Keywords : Goldfish, Network Time Protocol, IoT, QoS
