Abstract
MANET is a set of nodes that form a wireless network without a centralized router so that each node can function as a router that forwards a data packet between nodes with each other. Every node on the MANET network requires energy sourced from batteries in order to communicate with each other and if that energy is exhausted, communication on the MANET network will be disrupted while sending data. Because every node on a MANET requires energy to communicate with each other, routing protocols play an important role in optimizing the working functions of nodes. This research focuses on how energy consumption on the MANET network can affect the performance of AODV and DSDV routing protocols and perform metric performance with the aim of comparing the performance of the two routing protocols to find out which routing protocols are best suited for use on manet networks. The parameters used in this study are energy and energy consumption remaining and metric performance measurements, such as: packet delivery ratio, throughput, and end-to-end delay. The testing scheme to get data results based on its parameters is to add several scenarios to the simulation, namely increasing the number of nodes and increasing the area of the network. In the results of energy measurement tests, it can be concluded that AODV is more efficient than DSDV by a margin of 0.017 in the node addition scenario, as well as by a margin of 0.016 in the area area improvement scenario. In the matrix performance measurement results, DSDV has a 7% probability of a higher packet delivery ratio than AODV in the scenario of increasing the number of nodes and increasing the network area. But for throughput and delay measurement, AODV is better than DSDV with the highest throughput value of 8.00 kbps and lowest delay of 2.00 second. Keywords: MANET, AODV, DSDV , Energi, throughput
