Abstract

Laboratory is one of the supporting facilities used by students for the implementation of practicum. In the laboratory there are electronic devices used to support practicum activities. Well-regulated room temperature is around 18oC – 28oC with humidity temperature or room air ranging from 40% - 60%. For this reason, the temperature and humidity in the laboratory must be maintained in order to keep the tools maintained the ideal temperature operates. This research is the implementation of Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) in the temperature and humidity monitoring system of laboratory space using DHT11 sensor and for its microcontrollers using ESP8266. The thesis uses the CoAP protocol, which is linked to the EMQ X platform as a broker and Copper Cu as a client. The results of dht11 sensor testing of room temperature and humidity get an error rate of 1.45% and humidity of 1.22%. From the results of testing the sensor reading value is in accordance with the data in this room indicates that the designed system has worked well. In addition, QoS (Quality of Service) testing obtained an average value of 0.54941 ms. In testing packet loss parameters get a value of 0%. All delay and packet loss test results according to TIPHON standards fall under very good criteria. Keywords: CoAP, temperature, humidity, DHT11, EMQ X, QoS
