Abstract

Indonesia is a country where most of the population has a livelihood from the agricultural sector. Tea is one of the agricultural commodities whose management is quite extensive in Indonesia and has a long life. Tea is a plant that lives at a temperature of 130C – 150C and humidity> 70% during the day. Extensive tea plantations make it difficult to monitor the temperature and soil moisture of the land, so researchers want to design a tool that can monitor the plantation land remotely. Researchers made a tool to determine the temperature and soil moisture in tea plantations, using a DHT11 sensor and a YL-69 soil moisture sensor connected to the ESP32 microcontroller to facilitate monitoring. This system uses a monitoring tool, android application and database using google firebase. The accuracy resulting from the DHT11 sensor is quite good, the DHT11 test was carried out during the day. The average error rate during the day is 3.00%. The accuracy produced by the YL-69 sensor is quite good, the test was carried out by plugging the sensor directly into the ground with a depth of 10 cm and a land area of 1 meter. There are 3 categories of soil conditions, namely dry with a value of less than 70%, moist if it is in the range of 70% to 90%, and wet if it is above 90%. The smallest RSSI average value was obtained, which was -112.4666667. While the average value of SNR is -8.6, and then the largest delay value received by the device is an average value of 9 seconds.
