Abstract

In 2025 it is estimated that there will be around 1.5 billion people who will suffer from hypertension. Then deaths caused by heart and blood vessel disease reached 17.7 million people or about 32.26% of the total deaths in the world. This study aims to design a monitoring tool for oxygen levels and heart rate using the MAX30102 sensor with LoRa connectivity, monitoring can be done via a smartphone or computer via the website. The method used to determine oxygen levels and heart rate is pulse oximetry which is a non-invasive method. From the tests that have been carried out for measuring heart rate, the percentage error is 1.4%, the measurement of oxygen saturation has an error percentage of 0.6%. This can happen because the measurement of oxygen saturation is much more stable. Then for QoS testing of LoRa throughput, the average value is 115.8 bps, 0% packet loss, and 0.26 s delay. The results of the LoRa QoS test are in the very good category except for the delay which is in the medium category. For system testing, based on the distance the signal transmission starts to disappear at a distance of 200 meters which is the maximum distance for LoRa transmission without additional antennas. Meanwhile, for testing the system based on time, the average throughput value is 116.5 bps in the first 60 seconds, then the average value for the next 300 to 2400 seconds decreases with an average value of 63 bps, throughput has a very high value at the initial send will then drop and become static. Keywords : Pulse Oximetry, MAX30102, Oxygen Saturation, SpO2, BPM
