Abstract

One of the symptoms of someone infected with Covid-19 is fever. Checking body temperature and keeping a distance is very important to enter public areas such as schools, offices, shopping centers, places of worship, which are mandatory protocols that must be carried out. Thermal cameras are a tool for safe body temperature checks in this pandemic era. Thermal cameras have a disadvantage, such as errors in high temperature readings. This is because the thermal camera used has a low resolution. Therefore, this study aims to optimize the error value of temperature readings on thermal cameras using the linear regression method. The results of this study indicate that the linear regression method is able to optimize the readings from the thermal camera. In testing the accuracy of the sensor, the error are 4.86% to 6.75% and then optimized by linear regression and get good results with an error of 0.02% to 2.67%. It shows that temperature measurement with tools and systems designed to run accurately in accordance with the concept that has been designed.
