Abstract

Configuration of computer network devices on the concept of conventional computer networks is done physically separately. This causes a network to be less flexible to be configured for network changes, one of which is the addition of devices. Software Defined Network (SDN) is a new concept in computer network technology that can separate the control and forwarding functions on network devices so that the control function for configuration is carried out centrally to facilitate configuration when network changes occur. One of the control functions in a network device is routing in the router. Routing is an important part of network configuration that allows communication between different network addresses to communicate. One example of a computer network routing protocol that can detect changes in computer network topology quickly is OSPF (Open Shortest Path First). This study will simulate the SDN network using RouteFlow as a controller (control plane), mininet as a network emulator (data plane), and OSPF as a routing protocol in a ring topology. The measurement parameters are QoS (Quality of Service), namely delay, jitter and throughput with TIPHON standardization and convergence time. The test scenario is carried out by increasing the number of switches and increasing the traffic load and convergence time. The results of the measurement of QoS parameters indicate that increasing the number of switches will increase the value of delay and jitter but the throughput value tends to be stable with an average value of 11874,423 kbit/s. Increasing the amount of traffic sent will increase the value of delay, jitter and throughput. The value of the convergence time increases as the size of the packet sent increases. Keywords: Software Defined Network, RouteFlow, OSPF, QoS
