Abstract
According to IDNIC (Indonesian Network Information Center) in 2020, the world's need for internet access will increase by 52% and the number of devices that will be connected to the internet will be 26 billion to 50 billion devices. The availability of IPv4 which is only as much as 3.7 billion can not offer the availability of IP addresses. IPv6 is present as a new technology with the availability of 340 undesillion IP addresses so that in the future the migration of IPv4 to IPv6 is an absolute thing that cannot be avoided. However, the migration cannot be implemented directly because IPv4 and IPv6 migration takes a long time. The second problem is that internet users need fast internet access and guarantee security. With the problem of limited IP addresses, it is necessary to have a migration process before IPv6 is fully implemented. In addition, to deal with the problem of internet users' needs with fast access to the MPLS network, MPLS is a technology that offers fast data transfer processes to customers. IPv6 transition method on MPLS network is called IPv6 over MPLS with the transition model used can be tunneling, dual-stack and translation. In this study, we use a dual-stack model, namely 6PE and 6VPE to test network quality based on QOS with the TIPHON standard for videostreaming services with different resolutions and bitrates. The results of the research found that the use of the IPv6 transition method and changes in resolution and bitrate affect the value of the QoS parameter of videostreaming services. With the comparison results, the use of IPv4 is better than MPLS using the 6PE and 6VPE transition models. However, overall the 6PE and 6VPE transition models, the QoS parameter values are still categorized as good based on the TIPHON standard for videostreaming services.
