Abstract

Hydroponic cultivation can be used as a solution for people who want togrow various types of plants but do not have land to grow. However, this suitablehydroponic planting system has its drawbacks, hydroponics require a controlledenvironment, especially the need for monitoring of water temperature and waternutrient sensitivity needs to be monitored to avoid deteriorating the quality of theplant until it causes the plant to wither. The level of nutrient sensitivity and watertemperature that is emphasized in the pattern of suitable planting of hydroponicsystems will greatly af ect the growth and development in plants. By utilizingthedevelopment of computerized technology and the internet of things (IoT) canmakeit easier to monitor plants with suitable patterns of hydroponic planting. Inthisfinal projects aims to design a monitoring system against total dissoved solids andwater temperature on hydroponic plant media. In this final projects using2sensors namely, sensor total dissoved solids and water temperature sensor. Monitoring of total dissolved solids and water temperature is done throughanandroid application that has been connected to the device of the monitoringsystem. To connect with android applications, this device monitoring systemdissolved solids and water temperature base http protocol (Hypertext TransferProtocol). From the results of the tests carried out, the average value of thereading error rate on the SEN0244 sensor is 0.74% and the average value of thereading error rate on the DS18B20 temperature sensor is 0.00%. With the resultsof the sensor test, it shows that these two sensors can be used as a measure of theTDS value and temperature in hydroponic growing media.
