Abstract

Criminal acts such as breaking into houses are common nowadays, especially for people who live in urban areas such as Medan, Semarang, Jakarta, etc. Busy work activities can result in the house being often empty which provides an opening for people to commit crimes, or people who are often negligent in locking doors that still use conventional keys, or often lose keys, are the main factors in conducting this research. Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology that makes human work easier, which can share data, as a remote control using the internet network. Improving the home security sistem by using a door knock that uses several components, namely the knock sensor module component which functions as a knock pattern reader by converting mechanical energy into electrical energy, then using a doorlock solenoid which functions as a door holder, if the input is correct then the door will open after get permission from the relay component that functions as a switch. From the results of the tests carried out, it can be concluded that the tool can store beat data for 20 times of storage and each storage is recommended to only use 5 tap patterns used. The ubidots sistem as an alternative switch cannot function as planned, however, ubidots can provide realtime data when the door is open. Keywords : Internet of Things, ubidots, knock pattern, relay
