Abstract

The total population of Indonesia in 2020 is around 270 million people with 175.4 million are internet users. Smartphones that are increasingly developing have a cloning application, namely Parallel Space. The application can be duplicated on one device with the application so that users have one original application and another in the Paralle Space application. The forensic simulation that will be carried out will be used to uncover cases such as fraud, spreading fake news, slander, bullying, or spreading pornographic content. By using MobilEdit Express, Andriller + Whatsapp Key Extractor, Autopsy, Belkasoft Efidence tools are used to explore information on the user's Smartphone that can be used as digital evidence and find information. Then the data results obtained from the Whatsapp clone Parallel Space will be compared with the data on the original Whatsapp. The National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) method is applied to achieve the objectives of the research conducted by the author in an investigative manner on the duplicated Whatsapp application from the Parallael Space application, so that digital evidence will be obtained in tests carried out on Smartphones. The test results show that digital data evidence has been successfully obtained using Autopsy tools by using an external storage device in the form of backup data contents obtained from MobilEdit extract. The data results were not successfully obtained using Andriller + Whatsapp Key Extractor. The clone Parallel Spaced application and the one that does not contain the existing information is the same where the clone Parallel Spaced WhatsApp application using a third-party application Parallel Space copies the end-to-end encryption on the original WhatsApp. Because the system used in parallel space is the first virtualization, namely Multidroid.
