Abstract

Advances in information technology are currently developing in line with human needs who continue to want convenience, speed and accuracy in obtaining information, therefore advances in information technology must continue to be improved in terms of quality and quantity. Wireless LAN is a computer network that is connected to each other without going through cables. Local Area Network from computers or from other equipment can be developed via radio signals or light waves. Wireless LAN technology exists that uses radio frequencies to send and receive data without the need for cables to connect each other. As a result, users have high flexibility and do not depend on a place or location. Basically, the use of WLAN is not different from using transmission media, it's just that the installation costs will be relatively lighter. In this project, the author uses a WLAN design simulation at the DSP Building and the Rectorate Building at the IT Telkom Purwokerto campus using Cisco Packet Tracer software will be carried out by testing methods using the Ping Test and Add Simple Protocol Data Unit (PDU) methods which are based on a connection test with the Command Prompt on the system.
