Abstract

With the development of science and technology today, humans need technology that can help human needs. One of the needs that can help human needs is a means of transportation that is safe, comfortable, and free of obstacles. The train is one of the publics choices of transportation that makes travel easier. PT. Kereta Api Indonesia as a provider of land transportation sevices is committed to meeting the needs of the community by improving facilities and infrastructure to support the ongoing train journey. In terms of improvising its quality, it needs a telecommunications system that can facilitate train travel. For that PT. Kereta Api Indonesia uses a locomotive radio system as way of unifying the journey to make it smooth and safe. With the use of a locomotive radio system that is used on every trip, this condition makes the locomotive radio must always be in good condition. So, after every use within 3 months the radio locomotive must be treated. Some aspects of radio locomotive maintenance include the installation and wiring conditions of the LTU, console, antenna, and power as well as the condition of the mounting and connectors. In addition to physical conditions, parameters such as input voltage, output voltage, standby current, current Tx, SWR and power Tx become standard references in radio locomotive maintenance.
