Abstract

Television is a means of entertainment used by the wider community in the world. Apart from being a means of entertainment, television is also used as a means of conveying information both nationally and internationally. In Indonesia, television is also regulated by the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), which functions as a regulator for broadcasting in Indonesia. Where each region has the same opportunity to have a local television that can function as a potential development media and information media for their respective regions as stated in the Broadcasting Law No 32/2002 article 8 (2) that local television can be used as a development medium the local potential of the area. There are two types of television broadcast programs, namely news or news programs and entertainment or entertainment programs. To make programming on television media requires a production and editing process that aims to create and compile a television program so that it can provide clear information and be enjoyed by the audience comfortably and also aims to avoid SARA and pornography elements in the law. So, an editor is needed to re-edit the video that has been produced in accordance with the code of ethics applicable in a television medium.
